Job summary

HUMBLE VASCULAR SURGICAL CENTER INC. is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for our fast-paced outpatient surgery center in Memphis.

This full-time PACU position runs Monday through Friday with variable day shifts and late days; holidays, nights, and on-call duties are not required. Responsibilities include overseeing vital signs, wound care, patient and family education for home care, and post-operative monitoring.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• BLS and ACLS required.
• PALS preferred.
• Minimum of one year experience in PACU or critical care equivalent area.

Responsibilities

• Oversee vital signs, change dressings, and administer necessary medications.
• Educate families and patients about homecare instructions.
• Manage respiratory instability and cardiac monitoring activities.
• Assess patient’s condition after surgery and ensure vital signs are within range.
• Accurately record all findings in patient charts and develop individualized care plans.

Looking for a Full Time PACU nurse for a fast-paced outpatient surgery center.

General Summary Of Duties

• PACU nurses are responsible for overseeing vital signs, changing bandages, and administering necessary medications
• Educating families and patients about homecare instructions
• Manage respiratory instability and cardiac monitoring activities
• Assess patient’s condition after surgery is performed; ensure that all vital signs are within range
• Accurately and completely record all findings in patient’s chart
• The Registered Nurse will develop individualized care plans based on patient’s condition
• Monitors patient’s condition changes and reports changes to healthcare team
• Perform intervention duties in the case of post-operative emergencies
• Record sedation levels and body temperatures
• PACU RN will Ensure the post-operative space is clean and sanitized
• The PACU RN will Perform other duties as requested

Requirements

• Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing; current RN License.
• BLS and ACLS required.
• PALS preferred.
• Must have a minimum of one year experience in PACU or critical care equivalent area
