Job description

Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking an experienced Perianesthesia (PACU) Nurse. Inova's Perianesthesia RNs work in pre- and post-operative settings, including Phase 1 and 2 recovery. This is a PRN (as needed) position covering shifts from 6:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. The position requires a minimum of 48 hours scheduled within six weeks, with on-call responsibilities including holiday rotation.

Qualifications and Experience

1. At least two years of PACU experience preferred, including experience in PreOp, Phase 1, and Phase 2 recovery.
2. One year of critical care experience (ICU or ED) or PACU RN experience is required.
3. Education: BSN from an accredited nursing school. If holding an Associate's Degree (ADN), must complete a BSN within five years of hire.
4. Valid RN license to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
5. BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required at hire; ACLS and PALS certifications must be completed within 90 days of employment.
