Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the PACU to provide direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process in a fast-paced post-anesthesia setting.

The role supports a patient-centered approach, meeting diverse physical and psychosocial needs, and requires clear communication with the surgical team and leadership.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; current RN licensure accepted in lieu of degree; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Current RN license in Kentucky or a multisate licensure; BLS required; ACLS and PALS within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect patient care in the PACU using the nursing process.
• Meets physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs of patients and families.
• Communicates effectively with the healthcare team; reports to the Director of Surgery.

Shift: 8:00-4:30 | Full Time | Monday-Friday | C

All every 12 weeks for the week and night call every other week from 11p-7am

Job Summary & Essential Functions

Provides direct and indirect patient care in the Recovery/Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Meets the physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs of patients and families.

Communicates effectively with all members of the healthcare team regarding changes in patient condition or response to treatment. Reports to the Director of Surgery.

Patient Populations Served

• Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult.

Protected Health Information Accessed

• Demographic, Clinical, Insurance, Financial, Complete Medical Record.

Exposure & Physical Requirements

• Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present; may involve contact with patients, blood, body fluids, or specimens.
• Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hand/arm movements.
• Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.

What We Are Looking For

• Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing required (current RN licensure accepted in lieu of degree); Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• License/Certifications: Current RN license in state of Kentucky or a current multistate license; BLS required; ACLS and PALS within 1 year of hire.
