Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is recruiting a Registered Nurse (RN) for the PACU. You will provide direct and indirect patient care in the Recovery/Post-Anesthesia Care Unit following the nursing process, ensuring safety and quality during the perioperative period.

The position features a day schedule with 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, plus a 12-week day shift block and nightly on-call every other week from 11 PM to 7 AM.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree and current RN licensure.
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect patient care in the PACU using the nursing process.
• Communicates with the healthcare team about patient changes and responses to treatment.
• Reports to the Director of Surgery.

Job Summary & Essential Functions

Provides direct and indirect patient care in the Recovery/Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Meets the physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs of patients and families. Communicates effectively with all members of the healthcare team regarding changes in patient condition or response to treatment. Reports to the Director of Surgery.

Exposure & Physical Requirements

Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex. Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, repetitive hand/arm movements.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required (current RN licensure accepted in lieu of degree). Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Current RN license in Kentucky or multi‑state license.
