Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Pediatrics to join our night shift team in Somerset, KY. This full-time position includes a $20,000 commitment bonus for two years of employment and supports patient-centered care through collaboration with the care team.

As an RN in pediatrics, you will provide direct patient care, develop and revise care plans, and educate patients and families.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
  • Current registered nurse license to practice in Kentucky.
  • BCLS required within 90 days; ACLS and PALS within 6 months.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care using the nursing process.
  • Supervise and delegate to other staff as appropriate.
  • Formulate and update individualized care plans.
  • Monitor, document, and communicate patient status to care team.

How you will contribute
  • Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Supervises, teaches, and delegates to other personnel in the performance of activities related to nursing care.
  • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
  • Ability to formulate an individualized plan of care, revise plan as indicated by the patient's response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, provider, patient, and family following chain of command as appropriate.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient protecting the patient's rights.

What we are looking for
Education
  • Associate's degree Required; bachelor's degree Preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
License
  • Current RN to practice in the state of KY
  • BCLS within 90 days of hire; ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire
Certifications
  • BCLS within 90 days of hire; ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire
