Community Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the PACU to provide expert perioperative care. The role involves 2 twelve-hour shifts with on-call rotation, starting in midshift hours (0830-2100).
The incumbent will work in the PACU unit, using the nursing process from admission through discharge or transfer. Required qualifications include an RN license, an associate degree in nursing or higher, BLS on hire, ACLS/PALS within six months, and at least two years of PACU experience.
Status/FTE: PT / 0.6 FTE
Shift length: 12 hours
Start Time: Midshift (0830-2100)
Unit: PACU
Schedule Requirements (including weekends, holidays): Two (2) 12‑hour shifts and on‑call rotation.
The RN utilizes the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing care of patients from admission to the department through discharge or transfer. Provides expert care and education to patients in the PACU setting, acts as a patient advocate, leader, and mentor for assistive personnel. The RN is knowledgeable in clinical surgical procedures, disease processes, interventions, PACU supplies and equipment and pharmacological agents.
