Job summary

Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville, KY is seeking an RN for the PACU on a PRN basis. You will perform duties assigned, assess patients, manage pain, and administer medications within the six rights to ensure safety and quality care.

The team supports performance improvement and ongoing education in a small-town hospital setting. The facility emphasizes compassionate care, skilled nursing, and community focus with a history of accreditation and recognition.

Qualifications

• Active Kentucky RN license required (single state or compact).
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Associates degree in nursing; bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties as assigned and requested.
• Completes focused patient assessments and reassessments based on patient's condition, procedures, medications, and treatments.
• Adequately assesses and reassesses pain; utilizes appropriate pain management techniques.
• Provides patient care and communicates effectively with patients of all ages and with specific needs.
• Demonstrates knowledge of medications and ensures correct administration following the six rights to minimize medication errors.
• Assists physicians with procedures and provides services requiring technical and manual skills.
• Performs treatments and delivers care within licensure scope.
• Ensures patient safety by performing all aspects of care in an environment that reduces the likelihood of errors.
• Operates and manages equipment safely and correctly.
• Educates patients and families on disease processes and recovery expectations.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have an Active Kentucky RN License Required (single state or compact). If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins. Additional requirements include:

• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire.
• Education: Associate's degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Licenses: Must have a current Kentucky or compact state RN license.
