Job Description

Position: Registered Nurse Orthopedic

Employment Type: Full time

Shift: 12 Hour Day Shift

About the Facility

At Saint Francis Hospital, the Connecticut Joint Replacement Institute is an award-winning orthopedic hospital within a hospital, specializing in all aspects of joint replacement. As a Registered Nurse Orthopedic, your role will focus on caring for patients with musculoskeletal conditions, including fractures, joint replacements, spinal disorders, and sports injuries.

What You Will Do
  • Work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, caring for patients with orthopedic conditions, including post-surgical recovery and trauma cases.
  • Administer medications, including analgesics, and use non-pharmacological techniques to manage pain. Monitor and care for surgical wounds and dressings.
  • Assist patients with early ambulation, educate on movement restrictions, and collaborate with physical therapists. Provide education on pre-op and post-op procedures, including recovery expectations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited Nursing Program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing; BSN preferred.
  • Valid and current Connecticut RN licensure.
  • Current BLS or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Preferred: 2 years’ experience in an orthopedic or surgical unit.
Work Schedule

Full Time - 36 Days - 12 Hour Shifts - Every 4th Weekend & Every Other Holiday
