Job summary

Advocate Sherman Hospital, part of Advocate Health Care, in Elgin, IL, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Ortho-Neuro Surgical unit. This full-time, day-shift position offers a Magnet-designated, 24-bed unit and a collaborative, patient-centered care environment.

You will provide and coordinate comprehensive nursing care for orthopedic and neurological surgical patients, using the nursing process to ensure safety, quality, and exceptional patient experiences.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state where the teammate practices.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum through evidenced-based practice and strong communication.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, quality care for orthopedic and neurological surgical patients.

Registered Nurse (RN) – Ortho Neuro Surgical Advocate Sherman Hospital, Elgin IL Full-Time Days Where You Will Work: The 24-Bed Ortho Neuro Surgical Care Unit at Magnet designated Sherman Hospital is dedicated to providing quality care to our Ortho/ Neuro surgical patients. Our nursing team spans from enthusiastic new graduates to seasoned professionals with decades of practice—alongside dedicated nursing assistants who bring diverse skills and perspectives.

We’re Looking For:

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing, BSN Preferred
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

What You’ll Do:

As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
