Job summary

Mercy South Orthopedics is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Orthopedics unit in St. Louis, MO. The RN will utilize the nursing process to provide patient care, coordinate with other departments, and ensure patient rights and confidentiality in alignment with Mercy standards.

Location: Mercy Hospital South, St. Louis; Schedule: Full-Time, 36 hours/week; Shift: Day 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM. Sign-On Bonus up to $10,000 for experienced nurses and up to $5,000 for new graduates.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an accredited nursing program and hold an active RN license.
• Experience in hospital setting preferred; relevant orthopedic or specialty experience is a plus.
• BLS certification required or to be obtained within 30 days of hire.

• Coordinates patient care with other departments and monitors care effectiveness.

Qualifications

Education:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:

• Associate Degree in Nursing
• Nursing Diploma
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure:Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience:Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.

Certifications:

• Required:Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education:BSN preferred
• Licensure:Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
• Experience:Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
