Job summary

Advocate Health's Libertyville OR is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for our Open Heart Team. This full-time role requires at least 2 years of OR experience, with day shift, 0700-1530, and 30-minute response time in a Level 1 trauma center with 12 operating rooms.

You will coordinate patient care using the nursing process, lead evidence-based practice, and contribute to perioperative patient safety and superior outcomes for diverse surgical services.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing program.
• RN license issued by the state.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required.
• Preference given to RNs with Surgical Services experience.

Where You Will Work:

• Operating Room
• Open Heart Team
• Full Time - 40 Hours a Week
• Schedule: Day shift, M-F, 0700-1530
• Previous OR experience required

• 2 years minimum. Open Heart RN

• Holiday work/call rotation
• 30-minute response time Required
• 4-5 Call Shifts a month
• Level 1 Trauma Center
• 12 Operating Rooms, including specially equipped suites for cardiovascular and neurosurgery procedures.
• Surgical capabilities include Cosmetic, generally, gastro, gynecological, neuro, open heart, ophthalmology, ortho, otolaryngology, plastic, thoracic/vascular, urology, and weight loss.

We’re Looking For:

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Preference given to RNs with Surgical Services experience

What You’ll Do:

As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.

Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
