Job summary

Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL seeks an experienced RN for the Operating Room. This is a full-time role with a Monday–Friday 7am–3:30pm schedule, holiday work and on-call rotations in a Level 1 Trauma Center with 12 ORs.

You will provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, lead with evidence-based practice, and contribute to a safe, high-quality patient experience across the perioperative continuum.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing program.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice (IL).
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive perioperative patient care using the nursing process.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure safety, efficiency, and high-quality outcomes.

Where You Will Work

• Operating Room
• Full Time - 40 Hours a Week
• Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am - 3:30pm
• Holiday work/call rotation
• 30-minute response time Required
• 4-5 Call Shifts a month
• Level 1 Trauma Center
• 12 Operating Rooms, including specially equipped suites for cardiovascular and neurosurgery procedures.
• Surgical capabilities include Cosmetic, generally, gastro, gynecological, neuro, open heart, ophthalmology, ortho, otolaryngology, plastic, thoracic/vascular, urology, and weight loss.

We’re Looking For

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Preference given to RNs with Surgical Services experience

What You’ll Do

As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.

Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
