Shriners Children’s St. Louis is seeking an Operating Room RN to join our pediatric surgical team. You will provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced OR and collaborate with families and the health care team.

Requirements include a BSN (or in progress), Missouri RN license, 2+ years OR experience, BLS, and PALS within one year. CNOR preferred. This full-time role features a 3/10 dayshift schedule with opportunities to impact children and families.

Key Responsibilities:

• The OR Registered Nurse provides nursing care to our pediatric patients within the operating room, performs assessments and interventions designed to keep the patients safe during surgery.
• Involves patient, family, and health careteam members in formulating an appropriate individualized plan of care and identifies expected outcomes based on nursing assessment and diagnosis.
• Implements the plan of care in partnership with the patient, family, and health care team members.
• Ensures all components of the plan of care are documented in the patient health record.
• Evaluates the patient/family’s understanding of and response to the plan of care.
• Utilizes teaching strategies appropriateto the individual patient’s condition and learning needs.
• Assists the physician in accomplishing the plan of care for the patient and to provide continuity between the patient care unit and the Operating Room.

Required Qualifications:

• BSN degree required or in progress
• Missouri RN license
• 2+ years OR experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (within one year of employment)

Preferred Qualifications:

• CNOR highly preferred
• Prior pediatric acute care, plastic reconstructive surgery, orthopedic and spine experience a plus
  Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
