Job summary

Shriners Children’s St. Louis is seeking an Operating Room RN to join our pediatric surgical team. You will provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced OR and collaborate with families and the health care team.

Requirements include a BSN (or in progress), Missouri RN license, 2+ years OR experience, BLS, and PALS within one year. CNOR preferred. This full-time role features a 3/10 dayshift schedule with opportunities to impact children and families.

Qualifications

• BSN degree required or in progress.
• Missouri RN license.
• 2+ years OR experience.
• BLS certification.
• PALS certification (within one year of employment).

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care to pediatric patients in the operating room.
• Performs assessments and interventions to keep patients safe during surgery.
• Involves patient, family, and health care team in planning and outcomes.
• Implements plan of care with patient, family, and team.
• Documents all components of the plan of care in the health record.
• Evaluates patient/family understanding and response to the plan of care.
• Assists physician to ensure continuity between patient care unit and OR.
