Job summary

Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Family Birthing Center Float Pool on the Night Shift. The position covers Labor and Delivery, Mother Baby, and Intermediate Care Nursery units with 3-12 hour shifts.

Requires completion of an accredited nursing program, an active RN license in Illinois, BLS, NRP, and prior Labor & Delivery or Maternal-Baby experience. Full-time, night schedule with benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
• NRP certification.
• Previous experience in Labor & Delivery, Maternal-Baby and/or SCN required.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care.
• Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and best patient experience across the continuum using evidence-based practice and clinical decision making.

Where You Will Work

Our Family Birthing Center has 10 Labor Beds/ 5 Antepartum/ 10 Triage/ 2OB ORs. 24 Mother Baby beds and 16 Intermediate Care Nursery Beds. 150-175 deliveries per month.

We’re Looking For

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NRP
• Previous experience in Labor & Delivery, Maternal-Baby and/or SCN required

• As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
