Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse II for the Nursing Float Pool in Biddeford, ME. This per diem/night role offers floating across Medical-Surgical units, ICU and Emergency Department with 12-hour shifts and self-scheduling options.

The RN will deliver clinical care, demonstrate leadership and participate in ongoing professional development in a dynamic acute-care environment. Licensure, BLS, and required certifications apply; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
  • Current state RN license and BLS; ACLS/PALS within 1 year as applicable.
  • One year RN experience in acute care; fetal monitoring competency required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage patient care with clinical nursing practice and professional leadership.
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in acute settings.
  • Adapt to multiple units with flexibility and critical thinking.

Summary

The Registered Nurse II - Acute Care – MMC BID SAN role is responsible for the management of patient care, including clinical nursing practice/caring, leadership, management, professionalism, and growth/development, as well as the independent assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
  • License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. ICU, SCU, ED and PACU RN’s require ACLS and PALS Certifications within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines. OB, NICU RN’s require NRP Certification within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines. Positions that are fully remote will not require BLS.
  • Experience: One year of RN experience required. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Registered Nurse – Acute Care role.
  • Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Annual Electronic Fetal Monitoring competency for any RN assisting Laboring Women required.

The pay range for this position is $37.09 to $50.17 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
