Job summary

MaineHealth's Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick, ME is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse II for the evening shift on our Medical-Surgical unit. The role emphasizes patient care management, clinical nursing practice, leadership, and professional growth within a supportive team.

Candidates must have a nursing degree, active RN license, BLS, and one year of RN experience; ACLS/PALS within one year as required. A BSN is preferred. Part-time hours prorated with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required.
  • License/Certifications: Current RN license in the state; BLS required; ACLS/PALS within 12 months per unit guidelines.
  • Experience: One year of RN experience required.
  • Additional Skills/Requirements: Annual Electronic Fetal Monitoring competency for Laboring Women.
  • Preferred: BSN preferred.

  • Manage patient care with clinical nursing practice, leadership, management, professionalism, and growth/development.

This is a Registered Nurse 2 vacancy open to candidates with greater than 1 year of RN work experience

  • Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time RN position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.

This is a Part-time, 24 hour/week, Evening shift position.

Unit Bio

Our Medical-Surgical Unit offers a safe and nurturing environment for patients of all ages. Telemetry, orthopedic surgery, general surgery, cardiac/respiratory, diabetes, stroke, pediatrics, and gynecological surgery are all part of our practice. The Registered Nurse role is responsible for the management of patient care, including clinical nursing practice/caring, leadership, management, professionalism, and growth/development, as well as the independent assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
  • License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. ICU, SCU, ED and PACU RN’s require ACLS and PALS Certifications within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines. OB, NICU RN’s require NRP Certification within one year of start date or in accordance with Department guidelines
  • Experience: One year of RN experience required. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Registered Nurse – Acute Care role.
  • Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Annual Electronic Fetal Monitoring competency for any RN assisting Laboring Women required.

The pay for this position for an RN I is $35.61 per hour.

The pay range for this position for an RN II is $37.09 to $50.17 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
