Job summary

Lifepoint Health — North Alabama Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Nursery on the Night shift. The RN will perform newborn care, assess patient needs, document medical information, and collaborate with families to support early moments of life.

Requirements include a current RN license and a Bachelor's degree in nursing. BLS is required within 14 days; ACLS and PALS within six months. Schedule: 3 x 12-hour nights. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities available.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient assessments and identify needs.
  • Initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Document care relevant to medical necessity in the chart.
  • Manage and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
  • Complete timely QI assessments.

Skills

How You'll Contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
  • Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
  • Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
  • Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
  • Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
  • Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

Requirements

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 14 days of hire.
  • ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
  • One year of experience preferred
  • ASLS certification preferred
