Job description

We are seeking an experienced leader for our Interventional Radiology (IR) Procedural area, IR Clinic, and Interventional Neuroradiology department. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills, along with a solid background in patient care, staff management, and conflict resolution.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead and manage nursing and ancillary staff to ensure high-quality patient care

  4. Address and resolve staff and patient-related conflicts professionally
  5. Oversee patient workflow and ensure safety and compliance with regulations

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Manage and support the day-to-day operations of assigned patient care area(s)
  • Supervise all nurses and support staff, including Registered Nurses, Patient Care Assistants, Technicians, Health Unit Coordinators, and clerical staff
  • Oversee schedule preparation, utilizing wage and flex staff as appropriate, adjusting according to patient flow
  • Forecast and manage the budget for the unit, ensuring expenditures are within budget, with knowledge of benchmarks such as Paid hours per patient day and Worked hours per patient day
  • Develop programs for continuous quality improvement, system enhancements, streamlined processes, patient experience, and nurse performance
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements specific to the unit
  • Ensure the highest quality nursing care for patients and families
  • Develop and manage partnerships with clinicians, physicians, and administrative staff to achieve common goals
  • Promote integration of multidisciplinary work groups; manage recruitment, performance, team engagement, and retention activities
  • Implement the UVA shared governance nursing model at the unit level, ensuring shared decision-making affecting nursing practice, quality improvement, professional development, and research
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Position Compensation Range:

$110,697.60 - $147,680.00 annually

Minimum Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited program; Master's degree in a related field within 5 years of hire
  • Experience: At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience as a registered nurse in a patient care environment
  • For Dialysis Nurse Manager: Full-time employment at the facility, with at least 12 months of clinical nursing experience and 6 months in dialysis care
  • Licensure: RN license in Virginia; BLS certification; valid Virginia Driver’s license for managers overseeing multiple locations; specialty certification within 3 years of hire
Physical Demands:

This is primarily sedentary, involving extensive use of computers. Occasional travel may be required for meetings and programs.
