Job summary

Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital, part of Universal Health Services, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for night shift. This full-time position offers 36 hours per week, a $2,500 sign-on bonus, and full benefits. Facilities include inpatient care in Panama City, FL and outpatient services across the Florida Panhandle.

Recent graduates are welcome to apply. Candidates should graduate from an accredited RN program and hold a current FL RN license.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.

Responsibilities

• Conducts complete nursing assessment of admissions, including risk assessments, educational needs, and medication review.
• Participates in treatment team meetings, updates care plans, assesses needs, designs and implements programs, and documents responses.
• Documents nursing care and treatment progression with timely chart entries and updates to treatment plans; notifies physician of changes.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care and milieu; monitors patients during detox, including CIWA and COWS assessments.
• Ensures medication and treatment are administered as prescribed and completes medication consents.
• Provides leadership and supervision to Mental Health Technicians and LPNs; conducts q15 observations and rounds.
• Assists nurses and MHTs, maintaining safety; may assist patients with hygiene and ADLs.
• Performs crisis intervention, reporting, and patient/family education; leads nurse education groups.

Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital

provides inpatient treatment services to adolescents and adults at our 86-bed facility in Panama City, FL and outpatient services to adolescents and adults at our four outpatient centers located throughout the Florida Panhandle. Additionally, we offer specialized treatment for active duty military members through our Military Resiliency Program, specialized chemical dependency treatment and TMS therapy for chronic depression.

Job Duties:

• Conductscomplete nursing assessment of all admissions including risk assessments (SAO, elopement, assault, suicide);educational needs, and medication review. Completesall required nursing documents withinestablishedtime frame.
• Activelyparticipatesin treatment team meetings & decisions, collects& includesdata in care plan updates,assessespatient needs, designsand implementsprograms, and documents/ evaluatespatient responses.

• Providesleadership, supervision, and direction to Mental Health Technicians and LPNs. Providesoversight of q15 observations asevidencedby signatures on q15 observation rounding's.Conductsrounds.
• Providesand directsmilieumanagement. Activelyassistnurses and MHT's, keeping safety foremost.
• May need toassistpatients with personal hygiene andADL'sas needed.May provide q15 observation round coverage at times.
• Assesses,directsand intervenesin crisis situations.Recognizesescalation and takespreventive steps to reduce incidence of restraint and seclusion.
• Providesanddocumentspatient and family education.Leads nurse education groups and completes documentation.
• Initiatesand accountsfor Special Treatment Procedures.
• Provides a thorough andaccuratereport to the oncoming shift and completesan appropriate hand-offof the patients and q15 observation forms.
• Managesand ordersunit supplies for patient activities and non-group time that support a positive therapeutic environment.
• Completeschart checks as assigned.
• Floatsto other units as assigned.
• Servesas a mentor and trainer to new employees.
• May be assigned to perform Mental Health Technician (MHT) and/or 1:1 duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.
