Job summary

Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City, IA is seeking a Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse to provide safe, patient‑centered care using the nursing process for adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients.

Starting in Med/Surg with opportunity to cross-train to Birth Center and/or Emergency Department; ADN required, Iowa RN license, and new grads are encouraged to apply. Full-time night shift (0.9 FTE, 72 hours biweekly) with every third weekend, 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., meal break included.

Floyd County Medical Center is seeking registered nurses to join our team!

Position Overview:

The Medical Surgical (Med/Surg) Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the safe and effective care of medical surgical patients. Provides nursing care and treatment of the adult, geriatric and pediatric populations based on the nursing process using assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsible for providing education to patients and families. Communicates with nursing staff, physicians, providers, and other departments to ensure that patient needs are met. Uses critical thinking skills in making decisions regarding patient care.

Nurse will start in the Medical/Surgical Unit with the opportunity to cross-train to the Birth Center and/or Emergency Department if desired.

Minimum Education and/or Experience Required:

• Minimum of Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa
• NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
