Job summary

Good Samaritan University Hospital, part of Catholic Health, is seeking an experienced NICU RN for its Level III NICU on Long Island. The role supports care for premature and critically ill newborns, collaborating with physicians, nurses and staff to optimize outcomes and family engagement.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year NICU RN experience, a BSN (or enrollment in a BSN program), NY RN licensure, BLS and NRP certification, with PALS preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ year RN NICU experience, Level III preferred.
• BSN degree required or currently enrolled in BSN program.
• New York RN license and registration must be active.
• BLS and NRP required; PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, administer medication and manage overall care for premature and/or critically ill babies in a Level III NICU.
• Partner with physicians, RNs, and ancillary staff to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction.
• Advocate for and support families with safety, education and emotional support.

Job Details

Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) RN's

• Assess, monitor, administer medication and manage overall care for premature and/or critically ill babies in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
• Partner with an interdisciplinary team including, but not limited to, attending physicians, registered nurses (RN), and ancillary staff to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction.
• Advocate for and build meaningful relationships with patients' loved ones through safety intervention, emotional support and education.

What You'll Bring

• Passion for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
• 1+ years of Registered Nurse (RN) experience in the NICU, Level III preferred
• Externship or Capstone in the NICU
• Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
• Will consider Associates Degree if enrolled in an accredited BSN program
• Licensure: New York Registered Nurse (RN) License & Registration
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.

Salary Range

USD $59.61 - USD $77.49 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
