Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus in Topeka, KS is seeking a day shift, full-time NICU/Registered Nurse to coordinate safe patient care delivery for diverse populations.

You will assess patient and family needs, develop and revise care plans, delegate tasks, and ensure compliance with the Kansas Nurse Practice Act while delivering compassionate, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing required.
• Current Kansas RN Licensure required.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire or transfer.
• ACLS required for Tele, ICU, and PCU.
• Oncology certification required post Surgery.
• All certifications must be completed within the first year.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate safe patient care delivery for specified and diverse populations.
• Assess patient/family needs, develop and prioritize goals, evaluate care delivery, and revise plans of care.
• Delegate care appropriately to optimize patient outcomes.
• Adhere to the Kansas Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse works under the direction of the Nurse Director/Manager and is responsible for coordination of safe patient care delivery for specified and diverse patient populations.
• The RN assesses patient/family needs, develops and prioritizes patient goals, evaluates care delivery, and continually revises the plan of care to meet the biological, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual, developmental, and educational needs of the patient/family.
• The RN Delegates care as appropriate to optimize patient outcomes.
• The RN adheres to the Kansas Nurse Practice Act.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Associate’s degree in nursing.
• Current Kansas RN Licensure.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Tele, ICU, and PCU require ACLS.
• Post Surgery requires oncology certification.
• All required certifications must be completed within the first year of employment.
• Basic computer skills.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• At least one year of recent experience in a similar healthcare setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
