Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus in Topeka, KS is seeking a day shift, full-time NICU Registered Nurse to join our compassionate care team.

You will coordinate safe patient care, assess needs, develop and revise the plan of care, delegate tasks, and ensure adherence to the Kansas Nurse Practice Act.

Requires Kansas RN license, BLS (within 14 days), ACLS for tele/ICU/PCU, and at least 1 year in a similar setting; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate's degree in nursing and Kansas RN license.
• BLS certification required within 14 days of hire.
• ACLS required for Tele, ICU, and PCU units.
• Oncology certification post-surgery experience is preferred.
• All certifications must be completed within the first year.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate safe patient care delivery for NICU patients and diverse populations.
• Assess patient and family needs, set goals, and revise care plans.
• Delegate care to team members to optimize outcomes.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse works under the direction of the Nurse Director/Manager and is responsible for coordination of safe patient care delivery for specified and diverse patient populations.
• The RN assesses patient/family needs, develops and prioritizes patient goals, evaluates care delivery, and continually revises the plan of care to meet the biological, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual, developmental, and educational needs of the patient/family.
• The RN Delegates care as appropriate to optimize patient outcomes.
• The RN adheres to the Kansas Nurse Practice Act.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

• Associate's degree in nursing.
• Current Kansas RN Licensure.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Tele, ICU, and PCU require ACLS.
• Post Surgery requires oncology certification.
• All required certifications must be completed within the first year of employment.
• Basic computer skills.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• At least one year of recent experience in a similar healthcare setting.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
