Nursing: Neurosurgery ICU 9L at Carolinas Medical Center, Atrium Health
Full time, 36 hours per week, Full Time Night Shift, sign on bonus eligible.
$38.20 - $57.30 per hour.
The NSICU provides comprehensive patient care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. It is a 29-bed unit with all private rooms, three negative‑pressure rooms, and two fully equipped nursing stations with central monitoring available on either side. Common diagnoses include subarachnoid hemorrhage, subdural hematoma, epidural hematoma, spinal cord injuries, code stroke, head trauma, intracranial hemorrhages, brain tumors, continuous EEG, and carotid endarterectomies. Nurses specialize in utilizing the NIHSS, monitoring and manipulating external ventricular devices, subdural drains, and IRRAS. Staffing ratio is 1:2 and the unit holds an AACN Beacon of Excellence Silver Designation.
