Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse for the PCU Multisystem unit (MSU). In this role you will assess patients, develop care plans, administer treatments, and educate families while coordinating with the care team.

The Clinical Ladder offers opportunities for salary increases based on experience and performance. Day shift, 36 hours per week, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Florida is required.
• Associate's degree in nursing required; Bachelor's preferred.
• ACLS/BLS certification required.
• 1+ year of acute care hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients across physiological and psychosocial factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and reassess as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and protocols; monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care.
• Collaborate with medical staff and departments to coordinate patient care.

Unit Highlights

PCU Multisystem (MSU) provides inpatient medical care to individuals needing evaluation and medical stabilization prior to moving to a Behavioral Health unit. We are a unique team that focuses on the complex needs of both medical and psychiatric component of our patients while providing the best care.

Schedule : Day, 36 hours per week

Shift: 7am-7pm, rotating weekends and holidays

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.

• Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills
