Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is seeking an RN to join the PCU Multisystem (MSU) team on nights. This inpatient unit focuses on medical and psychiatric needs, offering a comprehensive care approach and collaboration with a multidisciplinary staff.

The role requires an Associate's Nursing degree (Bachelor's preferred), active RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications. Nights are 7pm–7am, 36 hours per week, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• RN license in good standing (Florida)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Associate's degree in nursing; Bachelor's preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients across physiological, psychological, and social factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and revise as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and protocols; monitor for adverse effects.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care.
• Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate and optimize patient care.

Unit Highlights

• PCU Multisystem (MSU) provides inpatient medical care to individuals needing evaluation and medical stabilization prior to moving to a Behavioral Health unit. We are a unique team that focuses on the complex needs of both medical and psychiatric component of our patients while providing the best care.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
