Job Type: Full-time | Night shift | 7pm - 7am
Every other weekend

Position Summary:

The Med/Surg RN coordinates total nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching, acts as a patient advocate and works as part of a team with ancillary and non-nursing departments.

• Assesses the patient’s condition and nursing care needs
• Sets goals and prescribes appropriate nursing interventions to meet physical, psychological, social and rehabilitative needs of patients
• Develops individual nursing care plans
• Implements care plans and makes revisions as needed
• Evaluates patient care outcomes
• Collaborates with physicians and other hospital employees
• Administers medications, treatments and therapies.
• Communicates with patients and oversees provision of care.
• Provides patients and/or family with instruction and education relevant to condition.
• Accurately documents nursing observations, assessments, medications, treatments, and other care given.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Experience:

• Associate’s degree in nursing required
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred

Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire

License:

• Current RN license in the state of Kentucky
