This nursing leader role is responsible for the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. The incumbent effectively delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members; assumes accountability for quality patient outcomes; and exhibits sensitivity to cultural, ethnic and religious diversity in all interactions.
Education
Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree In Nursing.
Work Experience
Required: None.
The role involves heavy work, with occasional exertion of 50 to 100 pounds and frequent exertion of 25 to 50 pounds. Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue. The incumbent works in a patient care area, directly with patients and specimens that could contain communicable diseases. There is an occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste.
