Job Summary

This job acts as a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. It effectively delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members; assumes accountability for quality patient outcomes; exhibits sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity in all interactions; participates in activities aimed toward achieving unit and departmental strategic goals and demonstrates professional responsibility and accountability for one’s own practice.

Education

• Required – Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Certifications

Physical and Environmental Demands

Duties require exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue. The incumbent works in a patient care area and may be exposed to communicable diseases and hazardous medications or waste.
