Ochsner Health in Slidell, Louisiana, is seeking a registered nurse to lead in patient care using the nursing process. The ideal candidate will demonstrate accountability for quality patient outcomes and effectively delegate tasks within the nursing team.
Responsibilities include assessing learning needs, managing resources, and ensuring customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment. Required qualifications include an RN license and BLS certification, with additional certifications needed shortly after hire.
This position acts as a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. Effectively delegates, directs and assists licensed and ancillary team members. Assumes accountability for quality patient outcomes, exhibits sensitivity to cultural, ethnic and religious diversity, and maintains involvement in activities aimed toward achieving unit and the department's strategic goals and objectives. Demonstrates professional responsibility and accountability for own practice and supports the company's philosophy of nursing.

Heavy work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. This role includes exposure to blood, body fluids and tissue, and there is an occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous medications or waste. The incumbent works in a patient care area and works directly with patients or specimens that could contain communicable diseases. The risk level of exposure may be increased depending on essential duties.
