Job summary

Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking an RN to join the Med Surg/Specialties unit. The role offers generous sign-on bonuses and a moving allowance for qualified candidates, with a special welcome for new grads and a $7,500 sign-on for new graduates with under one year of experience.

You’ll work full-time days, typically 7am–7pm, on a state-of-the-art 24-bed unit; you’ll gain broad experience from CHF, COPD, Sepsis, pneumonia, diabetes, stroke, and more while benefiting from a nurse

Qualifications

• Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• RN-Diploma, ASN, BSN or MSN from an accredited school.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care on the Med Surg/Specialties unit for a wide range of diagnoses.
• Administer medications, monitor telemetry, perform wound care, and manage high‑risk infusions.
• Utilize self-scheduling and collaborate with a caring Sentara team.

Full-time, dayshift. Approximately 7am to 7pm

Department/Position Overview

This state-of-the-art 24-bed unit that cares for a wide variety of medical diagnoses from CHF, COPD, Sepsis, Pneumonia, Diabetes, Stroke, end-of-life to name a few. Specializing in care for those with chronic blood disorders such as Sickle Cell. You will also become very knowledgeable in procedures such as wound vacs, high-risk medication infusions, telemetry, trach care, chest tubes, peritoneal dialysis, etc. We also offer the ability to take control of your schedule with self-scheduling!

Our staff members have different backgrounds that allow us to provide culturally competent care to our patients and families. The best part is learning and growing from each other! We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 - $61.01 hourly.
