Job summary

Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical Procedures Unit on the night shift. The team handles medical, surgical, and intermediate care patients with a 4:1 patient ratio and a dedicated Care Tech.

Preferred candidates have IMCU experience or at least two years acute med/surg RN experience. Generous sign-on bonus up to $20K and moving allowance offered.

Responsibilities

• Assess/admit patients on arrival and perform rounding checks.
• Administrate medications as prescribed and monitor effects.

• Maintain overall responsibility for patient care and safety.
• Coordinate with Care Team to ensure quality outcomes.

Department / Position Overview

Sentara is currently hiring a Registered Nurse to work at Sentara Leigh Hospital located in Norfolk on our Medical Procedures Unit. This unit will have a mixture of medical, surgical and intermediate care patients. Preferred candidates will have IMCU experience or at least two years acute med/surg RN experience.

This 8-bed unit will have a mixture of medical, surgical and intermediate care patients. The RN to patient ratio is 4 to 1 with a Patient Care Technician. The IMCU patients will not include those with Bipap, Epidural catheters, Dofetilide and Sotalol Initiation, ventilators, thoracic patients (chest tubes) and post cardiac cath patients.

Pay

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 - $61.01 hourly.

We also offer a starting pay rate for new graduate registered nurses with less than 1 year of experience at $36.00/hour.

Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
