Job summary

Sentara Health in Hampton, VA is hiring RNs for a 24-bed Stroke Unit as part of a 6-month Nurse Residency program designed for new graduates. The program is designed to ease transition into clinical practice with hands-on training, mentoring, and specialty tracks across Sentara hospitals.

Starting pay for new graduates with less than 1 year of experience is $36.00/hour. We offer a sign-on bonus up to $20,000 and relocation assistance to eligible candidates.

• Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients on a 24-bed Stroke Unit with diverse healthcare needs.
• Titrate and manage vasoactive infusions; operate bedside monitors.
• Contribute to patient care plans and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Unit Description

This is a 24-bed unit where we care for patients with a variety of healthcare needs. We are the designated Stroke Unit. We provide for respiratory compromised patients on Bipap, high-flo and/or chronic long term vents. We manipulate and titrate vasoactive infusions and have bedside monitors. We provide care for patients with DKA, CHF, Pneumonia, and much more.

Compensation

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 - $61.01 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
