Job summary

Aurora West Allis Medical Center in Wisconsin is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 6 South Med/Surg/Oncology unit on the night shift. The 34-bed unit cares for medical, surgical and oncology patients and offers opportunities to earn chemo/Med/Surg certifications and advance clinical skills.

New graduates and experienced RNs are welcome. The role includes nurse residency, preceptor-led orientation, and a supportive team focused on evidence-based patient care.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• New RN's and Experienced RN's WELCOME!

Responsibilities

• Build foundational skills and knowledge through Nurse Residency and Preceptor directed orientation.
• Build skills in time management, triaging accountabilities, communication skills, pharmacology, lab interpretation, pathophysiology of disease process through a variety of med/surg patients with acute and chronic conditions.
• Coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Develop collaborative relationships with a resourceful multi-disciplinary team.
• Provide continuity of patient care through 12-hour shifts, patient centered care and team minded support.
• Be a valued member of a highly skilled, resilient, and versatile nursing team committed to ensuring the delivery of quality and compassionate healthcare to diverse patient populations.

• Self-scheduling: 6-week schedules
• 12-hour shifts: 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
• Every third weekend and 50% holiday rotation

Benefits:

• Nurse Residency: for RN’s with less than 1 years' experience

Where you will work:

6 South Med/Surg/Oncology is a 34-bed inpatient unit caring for patients with medical, surgical, and oncology needs, including pneumonia, COPD exacerbations, pancreatitis, acute renal failure, and post-operative recovery. The unit also features four inpatient hospice beds, providing compassionate continuity of care for patients at end of life.

This is an excellent opportunity for new and experienced RNs to build a strong nursing foundation, earn Med/Surg and Chemotherapy certifications, and develop versatile clinical skills. Our team is committed to delivering evidence-based, compassionate, patient-centered care in a collaborative and supportive environment.
