Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO, is seeking a Registered Nurse for Med/Surg General Surgery to join a night-shift team (7:00 pm–7:00 am) on 3W. The role emphasizes patient care, coordination with other departments, and adherence to Mercy values. A sign-on bonus is available for qualified new grads and experienced RNs.

Education must include an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma or BSN) with MO RN licensure or compact licensure. BLS is required. Hospital experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: ADN, Nursing Diploma or BSN.
• Must hold and maintain a current RN license in Missouri or possess compact licensure.
• Required BLS certification through AHA or completion within 30 days of hire.
• Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on unit.

• Evaluates the effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers and coordinates patient care with other departments.

Schedule:Full-time | 36 hours/week

Shift: Night 7:00am- 7:00pm

Qualifications

Education:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:

• Associate Degree in Nursing
• Nursing Diploma
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure:Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience:Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.

Certifications:

• Required:Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education:BSN preferred
• Licensure:Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
• Experience:Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
