Job summary

Mercy Hospital South seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for Med Surg 5E. The role welcomes new graduates and experienced RNs. Location is Mercy Hospital South, St.

Louis, MO, with a 36-hour weekly schedule, day shifts from 7:00am to 7:00pm, and a sign-on bonus for experienced and new grads. As a Med Surg RN, you care for adult medical patients, apply the nursing process, and collaborate with multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with one of the listed programs.
• Missouri RN license or compact licensure as per state regulations.
• Previous hospital experience preferred depending on unit.
• BLS certification required or within 30 days of hire.

About the Unit — Med Surg 5E

Med Surg 5E cares for adult medical patients with diagnoses such as small bowel obstructions, respiratory infections, cellulitis, diverticulitis, and pneumonia. This unit provides an excellent environment to strengthen core Med Surg skills, enhance assessment abilities, and manage patients with diverse medical needs.

Qualifications

Education:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:

• Associate Degree in Nursing

• Nursing Diploma

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure:Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.

Experience:Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.

Certifications

• Required:Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education:BSN preferred

• Licensure:Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred

• Experience:Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly

• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift

• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
