Mercy Hospital South is seeking a Registered Nurse for Med Surg 5E in St. Louis. The role uses the nursing process to deliver patient care, ensuring coordination with other departments and safeguarding patient rights and confidentiality.
Requires Missouri RN licensure (or compact) and BLS, with hospital experience preferred. The unit serves adult medical patients and offers 36 hours per week, day shifts from 7:00am to 7:00pm, and a sign-on bonus for experienced and new graduate nurses.
Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and mercy service standards.

Med Surg 5E cares for adult medical patients with diagnoses such as small bowel obstructions, respiratory infections, cellulitis, diverticulitis, and pneumonia. This unit provides an excellent environment to strengthen core Med Surg skills, enhance assessment abilities, and manage patients with diverse medical needs.
Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations.
Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.
