Swain Community Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Med/Surg on the nights shift (7p-7a) in a 14-bed unit with a 6:1 patient ratio. The position offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus for new grads and up to $20,000 for experienced RNs with a 2-year commitment.

Active North Carolina or compact state RN license is required; Associate's degree is required, BSN preferred. ACLS/PALS within six months of hire.

Join our team in a 14-bed Medical Surgical Unit where you will provide compassionate care to patients alongside a dedicated team of Physicians, Advanced Practitioners, Registered Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants. With a 6:1 ratio, you will play a crucial role in assessing patient's needs, administering treatments and ensuring patient comfort and safety. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment focused on delivering high-quality patient care. This unit utilizes a self-scheduling application.

How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs

What we're looking for

• Licenses: Active North Carolina or compact state RN license required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• Associate's degree required, BSN preferred.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• AHA ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
