Job summary

Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is seeking a day shift, full-time Med-Surg Registered Nurse in Harker Heights, TX. The RN will plan and deliver direct and indirect patient care, develop nursing care plans, and communicate changes in patient condition to the care team.

Requirements include Texas RN licensure, current home state license or Texas BON multi-state recognition, BLS within 14 days of hire, and ACLS on hire. Preferred 1+ year Med-Surg experience and patient safety practices.

Qualifications

• Texas RN licensure required.
• Active BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
• Active ACLS certification required at hire.
• Nurse Licensure Compact recognition preferred or allowed.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

The nurse is responsible for the planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care, developing nursing care plan in coordination with patient, family, and interdisciplinary staff as necessary and communicating changes in patient’s clinical condition with Physicians, Nursing Supervisor/Manager, and co-workers as appropriate.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Completion of required education to obtain Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Registered Nurse (RN) with Texas Board of Nursing - OR - current home state license is required for multi-state license recognition through the Nurse Licensure Compact.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Active ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification through AHA is required upon hire.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• 1+ years of experience in Med/Surg hospital setting
• Experience with patient safety best practices.
