Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is seeking a night-shift, full-time Medical Surgical Charge Nurse in Harker Heights, TX. You will serve as the clinical leader for the Med/Surg unit, coordinate care, and ensure smooth shift operations with staffings decisions and patient rounds.

The role requires Texas RN licensure, a BSN within four years, and NLN Compact recognition. Experience in Med/Surg and BLS/ACLs are expected to support daily patient care and compliance.

Qualifications

• Must complete BSN within four years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Clinical leader responsible for Med/Surg unit operations and management.

Learn About A Day in the Life of a Med Surg RN:

Responsibilities

• This position serves as the clinical leader responsible for operations and management of the Med/Surg unit.


• The Charge Nurse assumes responsibility for shift operations such as making appropriate assignments, coordinating care, resolving issues, functioning as the resource nurse, participating in staffing decisions, rounding on patients, and maintaining TJC compliance.


• The Charge Nurse assumes long range responsibilities such as employee evaluations, corrective action, business/budget planning, and performance improvement.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Completion of education to obtain Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)


• Registered Nurse (RN) with Texas Board of Nursing – OR – current home state license is required for multi-state license recognition through the Nurse Licensure Compact


• Required to complete the education necessary to obtain my BSN degree within four (4) years of my date of hire with Seton Medical Center Harker Heights


• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.


• ACL


• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a Med/Surg hospital setting required

Job Requirements Preferred:

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a charge or relief charge nurse
