Job summary

Prime Healthcare Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical Surgical department. The role involves delivering safe patient care, coordinating with physicians, and guiding patient/family education in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Requirements include an active State RN license, BLS certification, and preferred ACLS; Critical Care course and BSN preferred, with 1 year of acute care RN experience. Full-time, days, with rotating holidays.

Qualifications

• ACLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and maintained preferred.
• Minimum one-year RN staff experience in acute care hospital; critical care preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process and direct patient care within scope of practice.
• Direct and guide patient and family teaching and supervise other nursing staff.
• Communicate changes in patient condition with physicians and monitor hemodynamics.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the DOU. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. He/She communicates with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current valid State Registered Nurse License2. Completion of Critical Care Course preferred3. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.4. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $35.35 to $53.58. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
