Inova Health System is seeking a Full-Time night shift Perianesthesia registered nurse for the Inova Fairfax Hospital Main Tower PACU in Falls Church, VA. The RN will care for patients through Preop, Phase 1, and Phase 2 in a dynamic PACU, with rotation to meet unit needs.

Experience in PACU or critical care is required; BLS is mandatory and Virginia RN licensure is required or eligible. A BSN is required; ADN holders must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by AHA.

Job description

Inova Fairfax Hospital's Main Tower PACU is currently seeking a Full-Time night shift Perianesthesia experienced registered nurse. Scheduled hours: 2000-0830 with minimal on-call requirement. Must be able to orient on day shift.

This dynamic perianesthesia care unit (PACU) serves a wide variety of surgical patients from the ambulatory to those requiring critical care. The surgical population includes ENT, general, colorectal, neurosurgery, orthopedic, plastics (both cosmetic and trauma), thoracic, transplants, and urology. We serve the entire age continuum from the pediatric to the geriatric patient with most patients being adult.

Nurses in this unit care for the perianesthesia patient throughout all phases including Preop, Phase 1, and Phase 2; and rotate as necessary to fit the needs of the unit.

Our team is looking for RNs with critical care or PACU experience; with trauma care experience a plus. Necessary skills include critical thinking along with the ability to prioritize and excellent communication skills. RN PACU Qualifications:

• Experience - 1 year of PACU or Critical Care (ICU/ED) nursing experience
• Certification - Basic Life Support through AHA

• Licensure - Licensed Registered Nurse or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse

• Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate's Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.

RN PACU Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years of PACU and/or critical care nursing experience (ICU or ED)
