Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky, seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for Labor and Delivery on a full-time night rotation with weekends. A $20,000 sign-on bonus is offered with a two-year commitment.

The role emphasizes direct patient care across neonatal to older adult populations, with emphasis on safety and documentation. Candidates must hold an active Kentucky RN license (compact allowed), BCLS, and be willing to obtain ACLS/PALS/NRP.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in nursing required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current RN license in state of practice; BCLS required; ACLS, PALS, NRP, and Handle with Care preferred.
• Active Kentucky license (single state or compact) required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence before employment begins.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care using the nursing process per scope and standards. Reports to Department Director or Manager.
• Patient populations served include Neonate to Older Adult.
• Protects patient information by accessing PHI appropriately (demographic, clinical, insurance, financial).
• Completes Medical Records accurately.
• Aware of occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
• Meets physical requirements: standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, repetitive hand/arm movements, exposure to hazards.

Summary Job Functions

• Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department.
• Patient Populations Served: Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult.
• Protected Health Information Accessed: Demographic, Clinical, Insurance, Financial,
• Complete Medical Record.
• Exposure: Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present for all employees.
• Physical Requirements: Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hand/arm movements. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.
