Desert Valley Hospital, part of the Prime Healthcare Foundation, is seeking a Registered Nurse for night shifts on a part-time basis in Southern California. The RN will provide direct patient care, perform assessments, and support Birthplace services with a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications include an active RN license; BSN preferred; BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring certifications within specified timeframes.

• Direct and supervise other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care.
• Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and ensure safety for mothers and newborns.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Birthplace. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Provides for a safe environment for patients and visitors. Utilizes the chain of command when necessary to ensure patient well-being and appropriateness of care to newborns and mothers during the antepartum and postpartum periods.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current and valid state RN license
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred
• BLS certification within 30 days and maintain current
• NRP certification within 90 days and maintain current
• Basic Fetal Monitoring upon hire within 60 days of hire and maintain current

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $46.50 to $66.04. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
