Job summary

Desert Valley Hospital in Southern California is seeking a Registered Nurse for the night shift in the ICU/unit. You will provide direct patient care, support patient/family education, and collaborate with physicians to monitor and respond to patient changes while maintaining confidentiality.

The role requires a current RN license, BLS/ACLS, and experience in acute care; CCU and BSN are preferred. Per Diem status applies, with nights as the shift.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS certification required at hire.
• ACLS certification at hire and maintained.
• Critical Care Course preferred.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care; CCU/CCRN preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process in the ICU setting.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to physicians and coordinate care.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the ICU. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. They communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current and valid state RN License.2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.3. Completion of Critical Care Course preferred. 4. Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.5. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current. 6. Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.7. Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred. 8. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Desert Valley Hospital offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $54.00. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
