Job summary

Desert Valley Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for night shifts to deliver safe patient care using the nursing process. The RN will guide patient/family teaching and assist other nursing staff while maintaining care standards in the Birthplace.

Qualifications

• NRP certification within 90 days and maintain current.
• Basic Fetal Monitoring must be completed within 60 days of hire and maintain current.

• Delivery of safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and response to treatment.
• Ensure a safe environment for patients and visitors; maintain standards of care for newborns and mothers antepartum and postpartum.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Birthplace. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Provides for a safe environment for patients and visitors. Utilizes the chain of command when necessary to ensure patient well-being and appropriateness of care to newborns and mothers during the antepartum and postpartum periods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred
• BLS certification within 30 days and maintain current
• NRP certification within 90 days and maintain current
• Basic Fetal Monitoring upon hire within 60 days of hire and maintain current#LI-DNI

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $46.50 to $66.04. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
