Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, NJ seeks a night shift, full-time Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse to join our patient‑centered team and provide expert nursing care for a defined obstetric population. The RN directs and coordinates care with peers and physicians, reports to the Nurse Manager, and supports a high‑quality experience for mothers and newborns.

A NJ RN license, ACLS, NRP, and BLS (within 14 days) are required; 1–2 years L&D experience; AWHONN Fetal

Qualifications

• RN license required (NJ) or multi-state license.
• Graduate of NLN/AACN-accredited nursing program.
• ACLS certification required.
• BLS certification obtained within 14 days of hire.
• NRP certification required.
• 1–2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience.
• AWHONN Electronic Fetal Monitoring course within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• RN Staff Nurse provides care for a specific obstetric patient population.
• Directs and oversees care by other caregivers through delegation and coordination.
• Coordinates patient care and unit activities among nursing peers, physicians and support services.
• Reports to the Nurse Manager.

Get to Know Your Team:

• Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.

Responsibilities:

• The RN Staff Nurse functions as a caregiver for a specific patient population in order to achieve desired outcomes.
• This positiondirects and oversees the care provided by other caregivers through delegation, validation, evaluation, and coordination.
• Thisposition effectively coordinates patient care/unit activities among nursing peers, physicians and support services.
• The RN StaffNurse reports to the Nurse Manager.

Qualifications:

Job Requirements:

• Registered Nurse (RN) with New Jersey Board of Nursing or an RN Multistate License from the NCL required.
• Graduate of an NLN/AACN-accredited program in nursing
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification (NRP) required.
• 1-2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience required
• Able to complete AWHONN Electronic Fetal Monitoring Course within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• OB nursing certification
• EFM certification

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
