Job summary

UP Health System – Marquette is seeking a Registered Nurse (PAR) for the Prep and Recovery Unit. You will assess patients, prepare for procedures, and provide post-procedure recovery care in Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology.

The role requires Michigan RN licensure, an associate degree (BS preferred), and BLS/HCP plus ACLS within 1 year. Evening shifts, 0.8 FTE, with a $7,500 sign-on bonus for qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license required.
• Associate degree in nursing; bachelor's degree preferred.
• BLS-Healthcare Provider certification required.
• ACLS certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform plan-of-care interventions including meds, specimens, and clinical treatments.
• Document care in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitor patient condition and communicate with care team and family.
• Assist with activities of daily living and float as needed.
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate transfers, discharges, and referrals.
• Provide age- and culture-appropriate patient education.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and education.

Job Type: Full-Time | 0.8 FTE or 64 hours/pp

Schedule: 8 x 8-hour Evening shifts, 1:00pm - 9:30pm

Sign-On Bonus: $7,500 available to qualified applicants

Overview

As a PAR RN at UP Health System – Marquette, you will provide patient assessments, education, procedural preparation, and post‑procedure recovery care for Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology patients. Your clinical expertise and compassionate care will impact patient outcomes each day.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan‑of‑care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and related medical care.
• Documents care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assists with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Displays initiative and flexibility to float throughout the building to support departments and staff.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, psychosocial/spiritual support).
• Assesses learning needs; provides age‑ and culture‑appropriate patient/family education.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well‑being of patients.
• Participates in performance improvement and required education; works other shifts/units as needed and may take on‑call assignments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a current Michigan RN license and an associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor’s preferred).

• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS‑HCP)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year
