Job summary

UP Health System - Marquette is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Prep and Recovery (PAR) unit. This full-time role offers 0.8 FTE with 8-hour evening shifts from 1:00pm to 9:30pm, and a $7,500 sign-on bonus for qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan RN license and associate's degree from an accredited nursing program.
• BLS-HCP certification and ACLS within 1 year of hire.
• Relevant experience in perioperative or recovery nursing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and related medical care.
• Documents care provided in a timely, accurate manner.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assists with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Displays initiative and flexibility to float throughout the building to support departments and staff.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, psychosocial/spiritual support).
• Assesses learning needs; provides age- and culture-appropriate patient/family education.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Participates in performance improvement and required education; works other shifts/units as needed and may take on-call assignments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
